Sleep isn’t a science, nor is it an art. It’s a matter of precision, of getting it just perfect.
If you get too little of it, it’s bad. You’re tired, you are irate and it might be the first step to a ruined day. If you get too much of it, you’re weirdly tired, perhaps even a little lethargic. You might have missed a few calls, or maybe even a meet up with a buddy, along with your day’s wasted.
Preferred sleeping positions also affect the quality of sleep we get as not sleeping the perfect way can affect how restful our sleep is.
Much like baking, you need to get everything to come off with that perfect batch of “sleep.” In the grand scheme of things, mattresses play a large part in that. It is one of the key ingredients in a good night’s sleep.

Making Sleep Better Nectar Memory Foam Mattress Material
With their headquarters in Palo Alto, California, Nectar Sleep is a mattress and bedding firm that designed the Nectar Mattress as their flagship memory foam mattress.
Nectar Sleep has three mattresses with different profiles: The Nectar, which has a 12” profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13” profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14” profile. And as mentioned earlier it is a three-layer, all-foam bed. It has a quilted cover and breathable base later, with the three layers of foam between: gel-infused memory foam, support memory foam, and high-density polyfoam. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.
Let’s dig into each aspect, shall we?

The Duvet
Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made of TENCEL lyocell and cotton. You get a soft feel on your body thanks to the pretty breathable and nice to the touch components of the mattress.
The Layer for Comfort
Two comfort layers work hand-in-hand to provide you not only comfort, but also a balance that helps you distribute your weight evenly throughout the entire mattress.
The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that is made from quilted memory foam with a 4PCF Density, while the second layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. Like a gentle embrace, this layer was designed so that it emulats like you are being embraced This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, helps manage bodily aches, and may even help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.
Transitional Layer
For the transitional layer, it has a high-density memory foam which measures about 1.75 inches instead of the usual polyfoam other mattresses have. This improvement of the foam enhances the way the mattress hugs against your body without it sagging too much.
Support Layer
And finally, the support center. It consists of a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that is about 5.25 inches thick. Along with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer base for the softer comfort layers. As a result of this, you get a balanced, medium-firm feel without compromising the support of the mattress as a whole.

What’s it like?
Giving it a whirl, or more accurately, a rest, will need some prep time when you open it out of the packaging. We suggest you purchase it in the morning and start setting up hours before sleeping since it is going to take precisely that, hours before it is going to expand and reach its entire height.
Like a good wine, it needs to breathe. Nectar Memory Foam Mattress Material
Once you lie down, give it a few moments and before you know it, the memory foam will start kicking into high gear and you’ll feel a tender embrace over your body. It’s a deep embrace feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed rather than “on” it will really enjoy this one.
The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too hard, not to squishy, it feels balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is very subjective, dependent not just on your preference, but also on your physicality. If you’re a bit on the other hand, this may feel a bit more firm to you than others might.
Positioning is the Key
So how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.
If you’re a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. There’s no need to worry about comfort as the mattress is designed to keep you in the perfect position Your pelvic region however may need extra support, if it sinks a bit deeper but it’s great for back sleepers.
For side sleepers, the memory foam’s conforms itself which allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. This mattress is a great choice for side sleepers as the uniform pressure release of the bed counters the harmful effects side sleeping might have.
Stomach sleepers may not want this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink in your abdomen area with this place, and you’re going to need to be very careful with that since it may affect your body adversely over time. For those who sleep on their stomachs, we would recommend that you choose a mattress that is firmer than this one as it may lead to adverse effects.
Couples will appreciate the bed a whole lot. Aside from being spacious enough to hold both of your comfortable, moving around and changing positions won’t be as bothersome with your partner thanks to its movement isolation and edge support. Nectar Memory Foam Mattress Material

Some Bodies to Love
For a more comprehensive breakdown, we are going to be getting into body types and how different body types respond differently to the Nectar Mattress.
The Lightweight Sleeper
The lightweight sleeper will discover the mattress to be a small firm, which is to be expected. They experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it wasn’t a very deep one. The experience can be described as a kind of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers need a soft to firm bed if they need that deep body hug.
However, if you’re a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm mattress which still has a bit of that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress will be great.
The Average Sleeper
The ordinary sleeper thought that the Nectar mattress was exactly as advertised — firm with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you are falling to the bed. There was no sagging, superior body relief and regardless of the sleeping place, it was great.
Heavyweight Sleepers
For heavy sleepers who want for something more firm, the Nectar Mattress may be the perfect fitThere will be a little sagging when the mattress starts to hug and shape around heavyweight sleepers, but besides that, if this firmness is your preference, it is a wonderful pick.
The Sleep Test
Although we tried to get to as much as we can with our review, we know really being able to feel the mattress for yourself, giving it a real test is the best method to determine if it’s for you. We can only act as a guide since, in the end of the day, it is all about your preference.
Your right mix of what you want and want to feel every evening.
As such, there are generally 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar desired to one-up that, and offers a 365 day evaluation period before fully committing to it. Think of it as getting to know your mattress long term before proposing, as opposed to popping the question after 3 or 4 weeks.
It’s a great comfort to know that option is there, just in the event of anything.
