Building Better Sleep Nectar Bed With Headboard
With their headquarters in Palo Alto, California, Nectar Sleep is a mattress and bedding company that made the Nectar Mattress as their flagship memory foam mattress.
The height of the mattress will depend on which type you’ll choose. There’s The Nectar, which is a 12″ profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13″ profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14″ profile. All mattresses have the signature three-layer all-foam bed which has a gel memory foam, dynamic support memory foam, and high-core memory foam; these three layers are sandwiched by a quilted cool cover and a Shift-resistant lower cover. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.
Let’s dig into each facet, shall we?

The Cover
Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made from TENCEL lyocell and cotton. You get a soft feel on your body thanks to the pretty breathable and nice to the touch materials of the mattress.
The Layer for Comfort
Two comfort layers work hand-in-hand to give you not just comfort, but also a balance that helps you distribute your weight evenly throughout the whole mattress.
The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that’s made of quilted memory foam using a 4PCF Density, while the next layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. They were created this way so that when you sleep on it, it seems like its hugging your body. This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, helps handle bodily aches, and may help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.
Transitional Layer
For the transitional layer, it has a high-density memory foam which measures about 1.75 inches rather than the usual polyfoam other mattresses have. Because of this technology the mattress is able to press against your sleeping body without losing any of it’s firmness.
Support Layer
And finally, the support core. Along with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer foundation for the softer comfort layers. Because of this, you get a balanced, medium-firm sense without undermining the support of the mattress as a whole.

What’s it like?
Taking it out for a spin — or rather, for a sleep — takes a while right from the box. We suggest you purchase it in the morning and start setting up hours before sleeping because it will take exactly that, hours before it’ll expand and reach its entire height.
Like a fine wine, it first needs to breathe. Nectar Bed With Headboard
Once you lie down, give it a few moments and before you know it, the memory foam will begin kicking into high gear and you will feel a soft embrace over your body. It’s a deep embrace feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed rather than “on” it will love this one.
Concerning firmness, it is around medium firmness — balanced, in that regard. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is quite subjective, dependent not just on your preference, but also on your physicality. If you’re a bit on the other hand, this may feel somewhat more firm for you than others would.
It’s about Positioning
So how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.
If you’re a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. There’s no need to think about posture as the mattress is designed to keep you in the recommended position Your lumbar area however may need additional support, if it sinks a bit deeper but otherwise, it’s terrific for back sleepers.
For side sleepers, the memory foam’s conforms itself which allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. The uniform pressure release of the mattress counters the negative impact this sleeping place could have on your body, so this bed is looking like a wonderful choice for this position.
Stomach sleepers may not want this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink in your abdomen area with this position, and you’ll have to be very careful with this since it may impact your body adversely over time. A firmer mattress might be better suited to people who like sleeping this way.
Having a restless partner on the same bed as you won’t be as cumbersome as with another mattress thanks to Nectar’s motion isolation and edge support features, so both you and your partner can move about without the other knowing. Nectar Bed With Headboard

Body Types for Nectar
For a more comprehensive breakdown, we are going to be getting into body types and how different body types respond differently to the Nectar Mattress.
The Lightweight Sleeper
As expected, a light sleeper will find the Nectar to be firm on the body. They still experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it was not a very deep one. The experience can be described as a kind of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers require a soft to firm bed if they want that deep body hug.
But if you’re a light sleeper and you’re searching for a firm mattress which still has a bit of that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress would be great.
The Typical Sleeper
The average sleeper thought that the Nectar mattress was just as advertised — company with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you are falling to the bed. There was no sagging, superior body relief and regardless of the sleeping position, it was great.
Heavy Sleepers
Although still quite supportive, the Nectar Mattress was more for those heavy sleepers who wanted something with medium firmness. There will be a bit of sagging when the mattress starts to hug and form around heavyweight sleepers, but other than that, if this firmness is your preference, it’s a great pick.
Sleeping on the Nectar Mattress
Although we tried to cover as much as we can with our review, we know really having the ability to feel the mattress for yourself, giving it a real test is the best way to ascertain whether it’s for you. As much as we would like to give you a hard recommendation, it’s still all about your preference and we can only act as mediators of information.
Your right mix of what you need and want to feel each evening.
As such, there are usually 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar desired to one-up that, and provides a 365 day evaluation period before fully committing to it. Consider it as dating your mattress long term before putting a ring on it, as opposed to popping the question after 3 or 4 weeks.
It’s a great comfort to know that option is there, just in the event of anything.
