Like Goldilocks preference in soup, sleep is all about finding out which mattress is just right for you.
If you get too little of it, it’s bad. You’re tired, you are irate and it might be the first step to a ruined day. If you get too much of it, you are weirdly tired, perhaps even a little lethargic. You may have missed a few calls, or maybe even a meet up with a buddy, along with your day’s wasted.
Preferred sleeping settings also affect the quality of sleep we get as not sleeping the ideal way can affect how restful our sleep is.
Much like baking, you have to get everything to come off with that perfect batch of “sleep.” In the grand scheme of things, mattresses play a huge role in that. It is one of the important ingredients in a good night’s sleep.

Making Sleep Better Nectar Bed on Floor
With their headquarters in Palo Alto, California, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress company that designed the Nectar Mattress as their flagship memory foam bed.
Nectar Sleep has three mattresses with different profiles: The Nectar, which has a 12” profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13” profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14” profile. And as mentioned before it is a three-layer, all-foam bed. It consists of a quilted cover and breathable base later, with the three layers of foam between: gel-infused memory foam, support memory foam, and high-density polyfoam. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.
Let’s dig into each aspect, shall we?

The Cover
Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made of TENCEL lyocell and cotton. Since both of the materials are pretty breathable and feel nice to the touch, you get a wonderful feel on your body.
The Layer for Comfort
Two comfort layers work hand-in-hand to provide you not only comfort, but also a balance that makes it possible to distribute your weight evenly throughout the entire mattress.
The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that is made from quilted memory foam using a 4PCF Density, while the next layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. Like a gentle embrace, this layer was designed so that it feels like you are being hugged This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, can help handle bodily aches, and can help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.
Transitional Layer
For the transitional layer, it’s a high-density memory foam which measures about 1.75 inches rather than the typical polyfoam other mattresses have. This improvement of the foam enhances how the mattress hugs your body without it sagging too much.
Support Layer
And finally, the service core. It consists of a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that’s about 5.25 inches thick. Along with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer base for the softer comfort layers. As a result of this, you get a balanced, medium-firm feel without undermining the support of the mattress as a whole.

What’s it like?
Taking it out for a spin — or rather, for a sleep — takes a while right from the box. We suggest you purchase it in the morning and start setting up hours before sleeping because it is going to take precisely that, hours before it is going to expand and reach its entire height.
Like a good wine, it first needs to breathe. Nectar Bed on Floor
After letting it rest out of the box for a few hours, trying it out after a long day of impatiently waiting, you will feel a tender embrace start to surround you. It’s a deep embrace feeling to it that those who love sleeping “in” a bed instead of “on” it will love this one.
The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too hard, not to soft, it feels balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is very subjective, dependent not just on your preference, but also in your physicality. If you’re a bit on the other hand, this may feel a bit more firm to you than others might.
Positioning is the Key
Just how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.
If you’re a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a nice neutral position. Your lumbar area however may need extra support, if it sinks a bit deeper but otherwise, it’s terrific for back sleepers.
For side sleepers, the memory foam’s sink allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. The uniform pressure release of the mattress really counters the negative impact this sleeping position could have on your body, so this bed is alreadylooking like a wonderful choice for this position.
Stomach sleepers may not choose this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink in your abdomen area with this position, and you’ll have to be very careful with that since it may impact your body adversely over time. A firmer mattress might be better suited to people who enjoy sleeping this way.
Having a restless partner on the same bed as you won’t be as annoying as with another mattress thanks to Nectar’s motion isolation and edge support features, so both you and your partner can move about without the other knowing. Nectar Bed on Floor

Body Types for Nectar
For a more comprehensive breakdown, we are going to be getting into body types and how different body types react differently to the Nectar Mattress.
The Lightweight Sleeper
The lightweight sleeper will find the mattress to be a little tough, which is to be expected. They still experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it wasn’t a very deep one. The experience could be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers require a soft to firm bed if they need that deep body hug.
But if you’re a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm mattress which still has a bit of that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress will be great.
The Typical Sleeper
The average sleeper discovered that the Nectar mattress was exactly as advertised — firm with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you’re falling to the bed. They felt that it was a good product because no sagging was felt, the body relief it provided after a long day was superior no matter which sleeping position they went to bed in.
Heavy Sleepers
Although still very supportive, the Nectar Mattress was for those heavy sleepers who wanted something with medium firmness. There will be a bit of sagging when the mattress starts to hug and form around heavyweight sleepers, but besides that, if this stability is your preference, it’s a great pick.
The Sleep Test
Although we tried to get to as much as we can with our reviewwe know actually being able to feel the mattress on your own, giving it a real test is the best method to determine if it’s for you. We can only act as a guide since, in the end of the day, it’s all about your preference.
Your right mix of what you want and want to feel every night.
As such, there are generally 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar wanted to one-up that, and offers a 365 day test period before fully committing to it. Think of it as getting to know your mattress long term before proposing, as opposed to popping the question after 3 or 4 weeks.
It’s a wonderful comfort to know that that option is there, just in case of anything.
