Sleep is not a science, nor is it an art. It is a matter of precision, of getting it just perfect.
If you get too little of it, it is bad. You’re tired, you’re irate and it might be the first step to a ruined day. If you get too much of it, you’re weirdly tired, maybe even a bit lethargic. You may have missed some calls, or perhaps even a meet up with a friend, and your day’s wasted.
Then there is your individual sleeping style and position to think about — because all of us know if we don’t sleep the ideal way, which is our own way, then something will fail.
To be able to wake up completely awake, everything needs to be according to plan very much like baking. In the grand scheme of things, mattresses play a huge part in that. It is one of the important ingredients in a fantastic night’s sleep.
And today we’re reviewing one that’s out to prove itself as one of the top mattresses out there — The Nectar Mattress. It’s a three-layer memory foam mattress with mid-level toughness to cover a broad range of people’s sleeping preferences. High quality, smartly constructed and designed to help give you the best sleep you can request.

Before anything else, in case you’re in a rush, or just prefer a more visual review, here is a video below by Kelly and Mar from the Nectar Sleep YouTube channel:
Building Better Sleep Length of Nectar Queen Mattress
With their headquarters in Palo Alto, California, Nectar Sleep is a mattress and bedding firm that made the Nectar Mattress as their flagship memory foam mattress.
Nectar Sleep has three mattresses with different profiles: The Nectar, which has a 12” profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13” profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14” profile. And as mentioned before it is a three-layer, all-foam bed. It consists of a quilted cover and breathable base later, with the three layers of foam between: gel-infused memory foam, support memory foam, and high-density polyfoam. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.

The Duvet
Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made from TENCEL lyocell and cotton. You get a wonderful feel on your body thanks to the pretty breathable and nice to the touch components of the mattress.
Comfort Layer
Two comfort layers work hand-in-hand to give you not just comfort, but also a balance that makes it possible to distribute your weight evenly throughout the whole mattress.
The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that is made of quilted memory foam using a 4PCF Density, while the next layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. Like a gentle embrace, this layer was designed so that it feels like you are being embraced This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, helps handle bodily aches, and may help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.
Transitional Layer
For the transitional layer, it’s a high-density memory foam which measures about 1.75 inches instead of the typical polyfoam other mattresses have. This improvement of the foam enhances the way the mattress hugs against your body without sagging too much.
Support Layer
And finally, the service core. It consists of a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that’s about 5.25 inches thick. Together with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer foundation for the softer comfort layers. As a result of this, you receive a balanced, medium-firm feel without undermining the support of the mattress as a whole.

What’s it like?
Taking it out for a spin — or rather, for a sleep — takes a while right out of the box. We suggest you order it in the morning and begin setting up hours before sleeping since it is going to take exactly that, hours before it’ll expand and reach its entire height.
Like a good wine, it first needs to breathe. Length of Nectar Queen Mattress
Once you lie down, give it a few moments and before you know it, the memory foam will begin kicking into high gear and you’ll feel a soft embrace over your body. It’s a deep embrace feeling to it that those who love sleeping “in” a bed rather than “on” it will love this one.
The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too hard, not to squishy, it feels balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is quite subjective, dependent not only on your taste, but also on your physicality. If you are a bit on the other hand, this may feel somewhat more firm for you than others might.
Positioning is the Key
Just how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.
If you are a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a nice neutral position. Your pelvic region however may need extra support, in case it sinks a bit deeper but it’s great for back sleepers.
For side sleepers, the memory foam’s conforms itself which allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. The uniform pressure release of the mattress really counters the negative impact this sleeping place could have on your body, so this bed is alreadylooking like a wonderful pick for this position.
Stomach sleepers may not choose this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink in your abdomen area with this position, and you’ll need to be very careful with this because it may impact your body adversely with time. For those who sleep on their stomachs, we recommend that you opt for a mattress that is firmer than this one as it may lead to adverse effects.
Having a restless spouse on the same bed as you won’t be as annoying as with another mattress thanks to Nectar’s motion isolation and edge support features, so both you and your partner can wiggle about without the other knowing. Length of Nectar Queen Mattress

Body Types for Nectar
For a more comprehensive breakdown, we’ll be getting into body types and how different body types react differently to the Nectar Mattress.
The Lightweight Sleeper
As expected, a light sleeper will find the Nectar to be tough on the body. They experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it was not a very profound one. The experience could be described as a kind of “floating” feel to it. Usually, such sleepers need a soft to firm bed if they need that deep body hug.
But if you are a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm mattress which still has a little that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress would be great.
The Typical Sleeper
The ordinary sleeper thought that the Nectar mattress was just as advertised — firm with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you’re falling to the bed. They felt that it was a good product because no sagging was felt, the body relief it provided after a long day was great regardless of which sleeping position they went to bed in.
Heavy Sleepers
For heavy sleepers who desire for something more firm, the Nectar Mattress may be the perfect fitThere will be a little sagging when the mattress begins to hug and shape around heavyweight sleepers, but other than that, if this firmness is your preference, it’s a wonderful pick.
The Sleep Test
Although we tried to get to as much as we could with our trial , we know actually being able to feel the mattress on your own, giving it an actual test is the best method to determine whether it’s for you. As much as we would want to give you a hard recommendation, it’s still all about your preference and we can only act as mediators of information.
Your right mix of what you need and want to feel each night.
As such, there are generally 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar desired to one-up that, and offers a 365 day evaluation period before fully committing to it. It’s like properly getting to know your mattress over a long period of time instead of just after a few months of seeing each other.
It’s a wonderful comfort to know that that option is there, only in the event of anything.
