Like Goldilocks preference in soup, sleep is all about finding out which mattress is just right for you.
If you get too little of it, it’s bad. You’re tired, you are irate and it could be the first step to a ruined day. If you get too much of it, then you’re weirdly tired, maybe even a bit lethargic. Lacking sleep can cause you to miss out a perfectly nice day of commitments.
Then there’s your individual sleeping style and position to consider — because all of us know if we do not sleep the right way, which is our own way, then something will fail.
To be able to wake up completely awake, everything needs to be according to plan very much like baking. In the grand scheme of things, mattresses play a large role in that. It is one of the key ingredients in a good night’s sleep.
And today we are reviewing one that is out to establish itself as one of the best mattresses out there — The Nectar Mattress. It is a three-layer memory foam mattress with mid-level toughness to cover a broad range of people’s sleeping preferences. High quality, smartly constructed and designed to help give you the best sleep you can ask for.

Building Better Sleep Is There Two Sides to a Nectar Mattress
With the Nectar Mattress as their flagship product, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress company that is stationed in Palo Alto, California.
The height of the mattress will depend on which type you’ll choose. There’s The Nectar, which is a 12″ profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13″ profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14″ profile. All mattresses have the signature three-layer all-foam bed which consists of a gel memory foam, dynamic support memory foam, and high-core memory foam; these three layers are sandwiched by a quilted cool cover and a Shift-resistant lower cover. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.
Let’s dig into each aspect, shall we?

The Cover
Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made from TENCEL lyocell and cotton. You get a soft feel on your body thanks to the fairly breathable and nice to the touch components of the mattress.
The Layer for Comfort
Two comfort layers work hand-in-hand to provide you not just comfort, but also a balance that makes it possible to distribute your weight evenly throughout the whole mattress.
The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that’s made of quilted memory foam using a 4PCF Density, while the next layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. They were created this way so that when you sleep on it, it seems like its embracing your body. This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, can help handle bodily aches, and may help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.
Transitional Layer
For the transitional layer, it has a high-density memory foam that measures about 1.75 inches rather than the typical polyfoam other mattresses have. This improvement of the foam enhances how the mattress hugs your body without sagging too much.
Support Layer
And finally, the support core. It contains a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that is about 5.25 inches thick. Along with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer base for the softer comfort layers. As a result of this, you get a balanced, medium-firm sense without undermining the support of the mattress as a whole.

How Does It Feel?
Taking it out for a spin — or rather, for a sleep — takes a while right out of the box. We suggest you order it in the morning and begin setting up hours before sleeping because it will take exactly that, hours before it is going to expand and reach its entire height.
Like a good wine, it first needs to breathe. Is There Two Sides to a Nectar Mattress
After letting it rest out of the box for a few hours, trying it out after a long day of patiently waiting, you will feel a tender embrace start to surround you. It has a deep hug feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed rather than “on” it will really enjoy this one.
The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too hard, not to soft, it feels perfectly balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is quite subjective, dependent not just on your taste, but also on your physicality. If you are a bit on the other hand, this may feel a bit more firm to you than others might.
Positioning is the Key
So how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.
If you’re a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a nice neutral position. Your lumbar area however may need additional support, if it sinks a bit deeper but it’s great for back sleepers.
For side sleepers, the memory foam’s sink allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. The uniform pressure release of the mattress really counters the negative effect this sleeping position could have on your body, so this bed is looking like a great pick for this position.
Stomach sleepers may not want this mattress. You’ll certainly feel a sink into your abdomen area with this position, and you’re going to need to be very careful with that because it might impact your body adversely with time. A firmer mattress might be better suited to people who enjoy sleeping this way.
Having a restless spouse on the same bed as you won’t be as cumbersome as with another mattress thanks to Nectar’s motion isolation and edge support features, so both you and your partner can move about without the other knowing. Is There Two Sides to a Nectar Mattress

Body Types for Nectar
For a more comprehensive breakdown, we’ll be getting into body types and how different body types react differently to the Nectar Mattress.
The Lightweight Sleeper
As expected, a light sleeper will find the Nectar to be tough on the body. They experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it was not a very deep one. The experience can be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers need a soft to firm bed if they want that deep body hug.
But if you’re a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm bed that still has a little that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress will be great.
The Typical Sleeper
The average sleeper discovered that the Nectar mattress was just as advertised — company with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you’re falling to the bed. There was no sagging, good body relief and regardless of the sleeping place, it was great.
Heavyweight Sleepers
For heavy sleepers who desire for something more firm, the Nectar Mattress may be the perfect fitThere’ll be a little sagging when the mattress begins to hug and shape around heavyweight sleepers, but other than that, if this firmness is your preference, it’s a great pick.
The Sleep Test
Although we tried to get to as much as we can with our review, we know actually having the ability to feel the mattress for yourself, giving it a real test is the best way to ascertain if it is for you. We can only act as a guide since, at the end of the day, it’s all about your preference.
Your right mix of everything you need and want to feel each night.
As such, there are usually 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar desired to one-up that, and offers a 365 day evaluation period before fully committing to it. Think of it as getting to know your mattress long term before proposing, as opposed to popping the question after 3 or 4 months.
It’s a wonderful comfort to know that option is there, only in case of anything.
