Like Goldilocks preference in soup, sleep is all about figuring out which mattress is just right for you.
If you get too little of it, it is bad. You’re tired, you are irate and it might be the first step to a ruined day. If you get too much of it, then you’re weirdly tired, perhaps even a bit lethargic. Lacking sleep can cause you to miss out a perfectly nice day of activities.
Then there’s your individual sleeping style and position to consider — because all of us know if we do not sleep the ideal way, which is our own way, then something will fail.
To be able to wake up completely rested, everything needs to be perfect very much like baking. In the grand scheme of things, mattresses play a huge part in that. It’s one of the key ingredients in a good night’s sleep.
And today we’re reviewing one that is out to establish itself as one of the top mattresses on the market — The Nectar Mattress. It’s a three-layer memory foam mattress with mid-level firmness to cover a broad selection of people’s sleeping preferences. High quality, smartly constructed and designed to help give you the best sleep you can ask for.

Making Sleep Better Is Nectar Mattress Good if You Weigh 120 Pounds
With the Nectar Mattress as their flagship product, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress firm that is stationed in Palo Alto, California.
Nectar Sleep has three mattresses with different profiles: The Nectar, which has a 12” profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13” profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14” profile. And as mentioned before it is a three-layer, all-foam bed. It consists of a quilted cover and breathable base later, with the three layers of foam between: gel-infused memory foam, support memory foam, and high-density polyfoam. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.
Let’s dig into each facet, shall we?

The Duvet
Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made of TENCEL lyocell and cotton. Since both of the materials are pretty breathable and feel nice to the touch, you get a nice feel on your body.
The Layer for Comfort
Making it possible to distribute your weight for a more comfy sleep, Nectar Mattress has two layers that prioritize comfort and proper sleep posture.
The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that’s made of quilted memory foam using a 4PCF Density, while the second layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. They were created this way so that when you sleep on it, it feels like its embracing your body. This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, helps manage bodily aches, and may even help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.
Transitional Layer
For the transitional layer, it’s a high-density memory foam that measures about 1.75 inches instead of the typical polyfoam other mattresses have. This improvement of the foam enhances the way the mattress hugs against your body without it sagging too much.
Support Layer
And finally, the support core. It contains a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that is about 5.25 inches thick. Together with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer base for the softer comfort layers. As a result of this, you receive a balanced, medium-firm feel without compromising the support of the mattress as a whole.

What’s it like?
Taking it out for a spin — or rather, for a sleep — takes some time right out of the box. We suggest you purchase it in the morning and begin setting up hours before sleeping because it is going to take exactly that, hours before it is going to expand and reach its full height.
Like a fine wine, it needs to breathe. Is Nectar Mattress Good if You Weigh 120 Pounds
Once you lie down, give it a few moments and before you know it, the memory foam will start kicking into high gear and you will feel a soft embrace over your body. It has a deep embrace feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed rather than “on” it will love this one.
The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too hard, not to soft, it feels balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is very subjective, dependent not only on your taste, but also in your physicality. If you are a bit on the other hand, this may feel a bit more firm for you than others might.
It’s All About Positioning
So how does the Nectar mattress feel, that depends on what position you sleep in.
If you’re a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a perfect neutral position. Your pelvic region however may need additional support, if it sinks a bit deeper but otherwise, it’s terrific for back sleepers.
For side sleepers, the memory foam’s sink allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. The uniform pressure release of the mattress counters the negative effect this sleeping position could have on your body, so this bed is looking like a great choice for this position.
Stomach sleepers may not want this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink into your abdomen area with this position, and you’re going to need to be very careful with that since it might affect your body adversely over time. A firmer mattress might be better suited to those who enjoy sleeping this way.
Having a restless partner on the same mattress as you won’t be as cumbersome as with another mattress thanks to Nectar’s motion isolation and edge support features, so both you and your partner can move about without the other knowing. Is Nectar Mattress Good if You Weigh 120 Pounds

Some Bodies to Love
For a more comprehensive breakdown, we are going to be getting into body types and how different body types react differently to the Nectar Mattress.
The Lightweight Sleeper
As expected, a light sleeper will discover the Nectar to be tough on the body. They experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it was not a very deep one. The experience could be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, such sleepers require a soft to firm bed if they want that deep body hug.
But if you’re a light sleeper and you’re searching for a firm bed that still has a little that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress will be great.
The Typical Sleeper
The average sleeper discovered that the Nectar mattress was just as advertised — firm with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you’re falling to the bed. They felt that it was a good product because no sagging was felt, the body relief it provided after a long day was superior no matter which sleeping position they went to bed in.
Heavy Sleepers
Although still very supportive, the Nectar Mattress was more for those heavy sleepers who wanted something with medium firmness. There will be a little sagging when the mattress begins to hug and form around heavyweight sleepers, but besides that, if this firmness is your preference, it’s a great pick.
The Sleep Test
Although we tried to get to as much as we could with our trial we know really being able to feel the mattress on your own, giving it an actual test is the best way to ascertain if it is for you. We can only act as a guide since, in the end of the day, it’s all about your preference.
Your right mix of everything you want and want to feel every evening.
As such, there are generally 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar wanted to one-up that, and offers a 365 day test period before fully committing to it. It’s like properly getting to know your mattress over a long period of time rather than of just after a few weeks of seeing each other.
It’s a great comfort to know that that option is there, just in case of anything.
