Sleep isn’t a science, nor is it an art. It is a matter of precision, of getting it just perfect.
If you get too little of it, it’s bad. You’re tired, you are irate and it could be the first step to a ruined day. If you get too much of it, then you are weirdly tired, maybe even a little lethargic. Lacking sleep can cause you to miss out a perfectly good day of activities.
Then there’s your individual sleeping style and position to think about — because all of us know if we do not sleep the ideal way, which is our own way, then something will go wrong.
To be able to wake up fully rested, everything needs to be according to plan very much similar baking. In the grand scheme of things, mattresses play a large part in that. It is one of the important ingredients in a good night’s sleep.
The Nectar Mattress has proven itself to be one of the most reliable mattresses available right now available. It is a three-layer memory foam mattress with mid-level toughness to cover a wide range of people’s sleeping preferences. High quality, smartly constructed and designed to help give you the best sleep you can ask for.
Does it succeed? Is it all that? We’re here to help you find out.
Before anything else, in case you’re in a rush, or just prefer a more visual review, here is a video below by Kelly and Mar from the Nectar Sleep YouTube channel:
Making Sleep Better Is Nectar Mattress Better Than Nip and Tufts
With their headquarters in Palo Alto, California, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress company that made the Nectar Mattress as their flagship memory foam mattress.
Nectar Sleep has three mattresses with different profiles: The Nectar, which has a 12” profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13” profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14” profile. And as mentioned earlier it is a three-layer, all-foam bed. It has a quilted cover and breathable base later, with the three layers of foam between: gel-infused memory foam, support memory foam, and high-density polyfoam. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.
Let’s dig into every aspect, shall we?

The Cover
Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made from TENCEL lyocell and cotton. Since both of the components are pretty breathable and feel nice to the touch, you get a wonderful feel on your body.
Comfort Layer
Making it possible to distribute your weight for a more comfy sleep, Nectar Mattress has two layers that takes into account comfort and proper sleep posture.
The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that’s made of quilted memory foam using a 4PCF Density, while the next layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. They were designed this way so that when you sleep on it, it feels like its hugging your body. This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, helps handle bodily aches, and may even help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.
Transitional Layer
For the transitional layer, it’s a high-density memory foam that measures about 1.75 inches instead of the typical polyfoam other mattresses have. This improvement of the foam enhances how the mattress hugs your body without sagging too much.
Support Layer
And finally, the service core. It contains a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that’s about 5.25 inches thick. Together with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer base for the softer comfort layers. As a result of this, you receive a balanced, medium-firm feel without undermining the support of the mattress as a whole.

What’s it like?
Giving it a whirl, or more accurately, a rest, will need some prep time when you open it out of the packaging. We suggest you purchase it in the morning and start setting up hours before sleeping because it is going to take precisely that, hours before it is going to expand and reach its entire height.
Like a good wine, it first needs to breathe. Is Nectar Mattress Better Than Nip and Tufts
After letting it rest out of the box for a few hours, lying down after a long day of patiently waiting, you will feel a soft embrace start to surround you. It has a deep embrace feeling to it that those who love sleeping “in” a bed rather than “on” it will really enjoy this one.
The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too tough, not to squishy, it feels perfectly balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is quite subjective, dependent not only on your taste, but also in your physicality. If you are a bit on the lighter side, this may feel somewhat more firm to you than others might.
Positioning is the Key
So how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.
If you are a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a perfect neutral position. Your pelvic region however may need additional support, in case it sinks a bit deeper but it’s terrific for back sleepers.
For side sleepers, the memory foam’s sink allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. The uniform pressure release of the mattress counters the negative impact this sleeping place could have on your body, so this bed is looking like a great pick for this position.
Stomach sleepers may not want this mattress. You’ll certainly feel a sink into your abdomen area with this place, and you’ll need to be very careful with that since it may impact your body adversely with time. A firmer mattress might be better suited to people who enjoy sleeping this way.
Couples will appreciate the bed a lot. Apart from being spacious enough to hold both of your comfortable, moving around and changing positions will not be as bothersome with your partner due to its motion isolation and edge support. Is Nectar Mattress Better Than Nip and Tufts

Some Bodies to Love
For a more comprehensive breakdown, we’ll be getting into body types and how different body types react differently to the Nectar Mattress.
The Lightweight Sleeper
As expected, a light sleeper will find the Nectar to be tough on the body. They still experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it wasn’t a very deep one. The experience could be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers need a soft to firm bed if they need that deep body hug.
However, if you are a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm mattress which still has a little that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress would be great.
The Typical Sleeper
The average sleeper thought that the Nectar mattress was just as advertised — firm with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you are falling into the bed. There was no sagging, superior body relief and no matter the sleeping place, it was great.
Heavyweight Sleepers
Although still quite supportive, the Nectar Mattress was for those heavy sleepers who wanted something with moderate stability. There will be a bit of sagging when the mattress starts to hug and shape around heavyweight sleepers, but other than that, if this stability is your preference, it is a great pick.
The Sleep Test
Although we tried to get to as much as we could with our trial , we know really being able to feel the mattress for yourself, giving it a real test is the best way to determine whether it’s for you. As much as we would want to give you a decision, it’s still all about your preference and we can only act as mediators of information.
Your right mix of everything you want and want to feel each evening.
As such, there are generally 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar desired to one-up that, and offers a 365 day evaluation period before fully committing to it. Consider it as dating your mattress long term before proposing, rather than popping the question after 3 or 4 weeks.
It’s a wonderful comfort to know that that option is there, just in the event of anything.
