Making Sleep Better Do You Need to Rotate Your Nectar Mattress
With the Nectar Mattress as their flagship product, Nectar Sleep is a mattress and bedding firm that is stationed in Palo Alto, California.
Nectar Sleep has three mattresses with different profiles: The Nectar, which has a 12” profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13” profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14” profile. And as mentioned before it is a three-layer, all-foam bed. It consists of a quilted cover and breathable base later, with the three layers of foam between: gel-infused memory foam, support memory foam, and high-density polyfoam. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.
Let’s dig into every facet, shall we?

The Cover
Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made from TENCEL lyocell and cotton. You get a wonderful feel on your body thanks to the pretty breathable and nice to the touch components of the mattress.
The Layer for Comfort
Helping you distribute your weight for a more comfy sleep, Nectar Mattress has two layers that takes into account comfort and proper sleep posture.
The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that’s made from quilted memory foam using a 4PCF Density, while the second layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. They were designed this way so that when you sleep on it, it feels like its hugging your body. This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, can help handle bodily aches, and may even help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.
Transitional Layer
For the transitional layer, it’s a high-density memory foam that measures about 1.75 inches rather than the typical polyfoam other mattresses have. Because of this technology the mattress is able to press against your sleeping body without losing any of it’s firmness.
Support Layer
And finally, the support core. Together with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer foundation for the softer comfort layers. As a result of this, you receive a balanced, medium-firm sense without compromising the support of the mattress as a whole.

What’s it like?
Taking it out for a spin — or rather, for a sleep — takes a while right from the box. We suggest you order it in the morning and begin setting up hours before sleeping since it will take precisely that, hours before it’ll expand and reach its entire height.
Like a fine wine, it first needs to breathe. Do You Need to Rotate Your Nectar Mattress
After letting it rest out of the box for a few hours, trying it out after a long day of patiently waiting, you will feel a soft embrace start to surround you. It’s a deep embrace feeling to it that those who love sleeping “in” a bed instead of “on” it will love this one.
The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too tough, not to squishy, it feels balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is very subjective, dependent not only on your preference, but also on your physicality. If you are a bit on the other hand, this may feel somewhat more firm to you than others would.
It’s All About Positioning
So how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.
If you are a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a nice neutral position. Your lumbar area however may need additional support, in case it sinks a bit deeper but it’s terrific for back sleepers.
For side sleepers, the memory foam’s conforms itself which allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. This mattress is a perfect choice for side sleepers as the uniform pressure release of the bed counters the adverse effects side sleeping might have.
Stomach sleepers may not want this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink into your abdomen area with this position, and you’re going to need to be very careful with that since it might affect your body adversely with time. For those who sleep on their stomachs, we recommend that you choose a mattress that is harder than this one as it may lead to adverse effects.
Couples will enjoy the bed a lot. Apart from being spacious enough to hold both of your comfy, moving around and changing positions won’t be as bothersome with your partner due to its motion isolation and edge support. Do You Need to Rotate Your Nectar Mattress

Some Bodies to Love
For a more comprehensive breakdown, we’ll be getting into body types and how different body types react differently to the Nectar Mattress.
The Lightweight Sleeper
As expected, a light sleeper will find the Nectar to be firm on the body. They experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it wasn’t a very deep one. The experience could be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers need a soft to firm bed if they want that deep body hug.
However, if you are a light sleeper and you’re searching for a firm mattress which still has a little that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress will be great.
The Typical Sleeper
The average sleeper thought that the Nectar mattress was just as advertised — company with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you are falling to the bed. There was no sagging, good body relief and no matter the sleeping position, it was good.
Heavyweight Sleepers
Although still very supportive, the Nectar Mattress was for those heavy sleepers who wanted something with moderate stability. There’ll be a bit of sagging when the mattress begins to hug and shape around heavyweight sleepers, but besides that, if this stability is your preference, it is a wonderful pick.
The Sleep Test
Although we tried to get to as much as we could with our review, we know actually being able to feel the mattress for yourself, giving it an actual test is the best method to determine if it’s for you. We can only act as a guide because, in the end of the day, it’s all about your own preference.
Your right mix of what you need and want to feel each night.
As such, there are usually 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar wanted to one-up that, and offers a 365 day test period before fully committing to it. It’s like properly getting to know your bed over a long period of time instead of just after a few weeks of seeing each other.
It’s a great comfort to know that option is there, only in the event of anything.
