Like Goldilocks taste in soup, sleep is all about figuring out which mattress is just right for you.
If you receive too little of it, it is bad. You’re tired, you’re irate and it might be the first step to a ruined day. If you get too much of it, then you are weirdly tired, maybe even a little lethargic. You might have missed some calls, or maybe even a meet up with a buddy, and your day’s wasted.
Then there is your personal sleeping style and arrangement to think about — because we all know if we do not sleep the right way, which is our own way, then something will go wrong.
Much like baking, you need to get everything right, to come off with that perfect batch of “sleep.” In the grand scheme of things, mattresses play a large role in that. It is one of the key ingredients in a fantastic night’s sleep.

With their headquarters in Palo Alto, California, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress firm that made the Nectar Mattress as their flagship memory foam bed.
The height of the mattress will depend on which type you’ll choose. There’s The Nectar, which is a 12″ profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13″ profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14″ profile. All mattresses have the patented three-layer all-foam bed which has a gel memory foam, dynamic support memory foam, and high-core memory foam; these three layers are sandwiched by a quilted cool cover and a Shift-resistant lower cover. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.
Let’s dig into each facet, shall we?

The Cover
Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made of TENCEL lyocell and cotton. You get a wonderful feel on your body thanks to the fairly breathable and nice to the touch materials of the mattress.
Comfort Layer
Helping you distribute your weight for a more comfy sleep, Nectar Mattress has two layers that takes into account comfort and proper sleep posture.
The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that’s made of quilted memory foam using a 4PCF Density, while the second layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. They were created this way so that when you sleep on it, it seems like its hugging your body. This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, helps handle bodily aches, and may help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.
Transitional Layer
For the transitional layer, it has a high-density memory foam which measures about 1.75 inches rather than the usual polyfoam other mattresses have. This improvement of the foam enhances how the mattress hugs your body without it sagging too much.
Support Layer
And finally, the support center. It contains a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that’s about 5.25 inches thick. Along with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer base for the softer comfort layers. Because of this, you receive a balanced, medium-firm feel without compromising the support of the mattress as a whole.

How Does It Feel?
Giving it a whirl, or more accurately, a rest, will require some prep time when you open it out of the box. We suggest you order it in the morning and start setting up hours before sleeping since it is going to take exactly that, hours before it is going to expand and reach its entire height.
Like a fine wine, it first needs to breathe. Compare Caspar Mattress to Nectar Mattress Tomypillow Cover
After letting it rest out of the box for a few hours, lying down after a long day of impatiently waiting, you will feel a tender embrace start to surround you. It has a deep hug feeling to it that those who love sleeping “in” a bed instead of “on” it will really enjoy this one.
In terms of firmness, it’s around medium firmness — balanced, in that regard. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is very subjective, dependent not only on your taste, but also on your physicality. If you are a bit on the lighter side, this may feel somewhat more firm to you than others would.
Positioning is the Key
So how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.
If you’re a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a perfect neutral position. Your pelvic region however may need additional support, in case it sinks a bit deeper but it’s great for back sleepers.
For side sleepers, the memory foam’s sink allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. The uniform pressure release of the mattress really counters the negative impact this sleeping position could have on your body, so this bed is alreadylooking like a wonderful choice for this position.
Stomach sleepers may not choose this mattress. You’ll certainly feel a sink into your abdomen area with this place, and you’re going to have to be very careful with this because it may impact your body adversely over time. A firmer mattress may be better suited to those who like sleeping this way.
Having a restless spouse on the same bed as you won’t be as annoying as with another mattress thanks to Nectar’s motion isolation and edge support features, so both you and your partner can wiggle about without the other knowing. Compare Caspar Mattress to Nectar Mattress Tomypillow Cover

Some Bodies to Love
For a more comprehensive breakdown, we’ll be getting into body types and how different body types respond differently to the Nectar Mattress.
The Lightweight Sleeper
As expected, a light sleeper will discover the Nectar to be firm on the body. They still experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it was not a very deep one. The experience could be described as a kind of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers need a soft to firm bed if they want that deep body hug.
However, if you’re a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm bed that still has a little that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress will be great.
The Average Sleeper
The average sleeper thought that the Nectar mattress was exactly as advertised — firm with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you are falling to the bed. They felt that it was a good product because no sagging was felt, the body relief it provided after a long day was superior regardless of which sleeping position they went to bed in.
Heavyweight Sleepers
Although still quite supportive, the Nectar Mattress was for those heavy sleepers who wanted something with moderate stability. There’ll be a little sagging when the mattress begins to hug and form around heavyweight sleepers, but besides that, if this firmness is your preference, it’s a great pick.
The Sleep Test
Although we tried to get to as much as we could with our reviewwe know actually having the ability to feel the mattress on your own, giving it a real test is the best way to determine if it is for you. We can only act as a guide because, at the end of the day, it is all about your preference.
Your right mix of everything you need and want to feel every night.
As such, there are usually 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar wanted to one-up that, and offers a 365 day evaluation period before fully committing to it. It’s like properly courting your mattress over a long period of time rather than of just after a few months of seeing each other.
It’s a wonderful comfort to know that option is there, just in the event of anything.
