Sleep isn’t a science, nor is it an art. It’s a matter of precision, of getting it just perfect.
If you receive too little of it, it is bad. You’re tired, you’re irate and it might be the first step to a ruined day. If you get too much of it, you’re weirdly tired, maybe even a bit lethargic. Lacking sleep could cause you to miss out a perfectly nice day of commitments.
Then there’s your individual sleeping style and position to consider — because all of us know if we don’t sleep the right way, which is our own way, then something will fail.
Much like baking, you have to get everything to come away with that perfect batch of “sleep.” In the grand scheme of things, mattresses play a large part in that. It is one of the key ingredients in a fantastic night’s sleep.
And today we’re reviewing one that’s out to prove itself as one of the top mattresses on the market — The Nectar Mattress. It’s a three-layer memory foam mattress with mid-level firmness to cover a broad range of people’s sleeping preferences. High quality, smartly constructed and designed to help give you the best sleep you can request.

Building Better Sleep What Bed Frame for Nectar Mattress
With their headquarters in Palo Alto, California, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress company that made the Nectar Mattress as their flagship memory foam bed.
The height of the mattress will depend on which type you’ll choose. There’s The Nectar, which is a 12″ profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13″ profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14″ profile. All mattresses have the signature three-layer all-foam bed which consists of a gel memory foam, dynamic support memory foam, and high-core memory foam; these three layers are sandwiched by a quilted cool cover and a Shift-resistant lower cover. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.
Let’s dig into every aspect, shall we?

The Cover
Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made from TENCEL lyocell and cotton. Since both of the materials are pretty breathable and feel nice to the touch, you get a nice feel on your body.
Comfort Layer
Helping you distribute your weight for a more comfy sleep, Nectar Mattress has two layers that prioritize comfort and proper sleep posture.
The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that’s made from quilted memory foam with a 4PCF Density, while the second layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. They were created this way so that when you sleep on it, it feels like its hugging your body. This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, helps handle bodily aches, and can help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.
Transitional Layer
For the transitional layer, it’s a high-density memory foam that measures about 1.75 inches instead of the usual polyfoam other mattresses have. Because of this technology the mattress is able to press against your sleeping body without losing any of it’s firmness.
Support Layer
And finally, the service core. It contains a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that’s about 5.25 inches thick. Together with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer base for the softer comfort layers. Because of this, you receive a balanced, medium-firm sense without compromising the support of the mattress as a whole.

What’s it like?
Giving it a whirl, or more accurately, a rest, will need some prep time when you open it out of the box. We suggest you purchase it in the morning and begin setting up hours before sleeping since it is going to take exactly that, hours before it’ll expand and reach its full height.
Like a fine wine, it needs to breathe. What Bed Frame for Nectar Mattress
Once you lie down, give it a few moments and before you know it, the memory foam will start kicking into high gear and you’ll feel a soft embrace over your body. It has a deep hug feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed instead of “on” it will really enjoy this one.
The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too hard, not to soft, it feels perfectly balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is very subjective, dependent not only on your taste, but also on your physicality. If you’re a bit on the other hand, this may feel somewhat more firm to you than others might.
It’s All About Positioning
So how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.
If you are a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a nice neutral position. Your pelvic region however may need extra support, if it sinks a bit deeper but it’s terrific for back sleepers.
For side sleepers, the memory foam’s conforms itself which allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. This mattress is a great option for side sleepers as the uniform pressure release of the bed counters the adverse effects side sleeping might have.
Stomach sleepers may not choose this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink into your abdomen area with this place, and you’ll have to be very careful with that because it may impact your body adversely with time. A firmer mattress may be better suited to those who enjoy sleeping this way.
Having a restless spouse on the same mattress as you won’t be as cumbersome as with another mattress thanks to Nectar’s motion isolation and edge support features, so both you and your partner can wiggle about without the other finding out. What Bed Frame for Nectar Mattress

Body Types for Nectar
For a more comprehensive breakdown, we’ll be getting into body types and how different body types respond differently to the Nectar Mattress.
The Lightweight Sleeper
As expected, a light sleeper will find the Nectar to be firm on the body. They still experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it was not a very profound one. The experience can be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, such sleepers require a soft to firm bed if they need that deep body hug.
However, if you’re a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm mattress which still has a bit of that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress will be great.
The Typical Sleeper
The ordinary sleeper thought that the Nectar mattress was exactly as advertised — company with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you’re falling to the bed. They felt that it was a good product because no sagging was felt, the body relief it provided after a long day was great no matter which sleeping position they went to bed in.
Heavy Sleepers
For heavy sleepers who want for something more firm, the Nectar Mattress may be the perfect fitThere’ll be a bit of sagging when the mattress begins to hug and shape around heavyweight sleepers, but besides that, if this stability is your preference, it is a wonderful pick.
The Sleep Test
Although we tried to get to as much as we could with our trial , we know actually having the ability to feel the mattress for yourself, giving it an actual test is the best method to ascertain if it is for you. We can only act as a guide since, in the end of the day, it’s all about your preference.
Your right mix of what you need and want to feel each night.
As such, there are usually 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar wanted to one-up that, and provides a 365 day test period before fully committing to it. Consider it as getting to know your mattress long term before putting a ring on it, as opposed to popping the question after 3 or 4 months.
It’s a great comfort to know that that option is there, only in case of anything.
