Building Better Sleep Nectar, Lull or Casper Mattress?
With their headquarters in Palo Alto, California, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress company that made the Nectar Mattress as their flagship memory foam bed.
Nectar Sleep has three mattresses with different profiles: The Nectar, which has a 12” profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13” profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14” profile. And as mentioned before it is a three-layer, all-foam bed. It has a quilted cover and breathable base later, with the three layers of foam between: gel-infused memory foam, support memory foam, and high-density polyfoam. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.
Let’s dig into each aspect, shall we?

The Cover
Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made from TENCEL lyocell and cotton. Since both of the components are fairly breathable and feel nice to the touch, you get a nice feel on your body.
The Layer for Comfort
Two comfort layers work hand-in-hand to provide you not just comfort, but also a balance that helps you distribute your weight evenly throughout the whole mattress.
The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that is made of quilted memory foam using a 4PCF Density, while the second layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. They were created this way so that when you sleep on it, it feels like its hugging your body. This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, can help handle bodily aches, and can even help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.
Transitional Layer
For the transitional layer, it has a high-density memory foam that measures about 1.75 inches instead of the usual polyfoam other mattresses have. Thanks to this technology the mattress is capable of hugging your sleeping body without losing any of it’s firmness.
Support Layer
And finally, the service core. It contains a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that’s about 5.25 inches thick. Along with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer base for the softer comfort layers. Because of this, you get a balanced, medium-firm sense without undermining the support of the mattress as a whole.

What’s it like?
Taking it out for a spin — or rather, for a sleep — takes some time right out of the box. We suggest you order it in the morning and begin setting up hours before sleeping because it is going to take precisely that, hours before it is going to expand and reach its entire height.
Like a good wine, it first needs to breathe. Nectar, Lull or Casper Mattress?
As soon as you lie down, give it a few seconds and before you know it, the memory foam will start kicking into high gear and you’ll feel a tender embrace over your body. It’s a deep hug feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed rather than “on” it will love this one.
Concerning firmness, it’s around medium firmness — balanced, in that regard. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is very subjective, dependent not just on your preference, but also in your physicality. If you are a bit on the other hand, this may feel somewhat more firm for you than others might.
Positioning is the Key
So how does the Nectar mattress feel, that depends on what position you sleep in.
If you’re a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. There’s no need to think about posture as the mattress is designed to keep you in the perfect position Your lumbar area however may need additional support, in case it sinks a bit deeper but it’s terrific for back sleepers.
For side sleepers, the memory foam’s sink allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. The uniform pressure release of the mattress really counters the negative effect this sleeping position could have on your body, so this bed is alreadylooking like a great choice for this position.
Stomach sleepers may not choose this mattress. You’ll certainly feel a sink into your abdomen area with this place, and you’ll need to be very careful with this because it may impact your body adversely over time. For those who sleep on their stomachs, we would recommend that you opt for a mattress that is firmer than this one as it may lead to adverse effects.
Having a restless partner on the same bed as you won’t be as cumbersome as with another mattress thanks to Nectar’s motion isolation and edge support features, so both you and your partner can wiggle about without the other knowing. Nectar, Lull or Casper Mattress?

Some Bodies to Love
For a more comprehensive breakdown, we are going to be getting into body types and how different body types react differently to the Nectar Mattress.
The Lightweight Sleeper
As expected, a light sleeper will find the Nectar to be firm on the body. They still experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it wasn’t a very deep one. The experience can be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, such sleepers need a soft to firm bed if they want that deep body hug.
However, if you’re a light sleeper and you’re searching for a firm mattress which still has a little that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress would be great.
The Average Sleeper
The ordinary sleeper discovered that the Nectar mattress was exactly as advertised — company with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you are falling into the bed. They felt that it was a good product because no sagging was felt, the body relief it provided after a long day was superior no matter which sleeping position they went to bed in.
Heavy Sleepers
For heavy sleepers who desire for something more firm, the Nectar Mattress may be the perfect fitThere will be a bit of sagging when the mattress begins to hug and shape around heavyweight sleepers, but other than that, if this stability is your preference, it is a wonderful pick.
The Sleep Test
Although we tried to get to as much as we can with our reviewwe know actually having the ability to feel the mattress for yourself, giving it an actual test is the best method to determine whether it is for you. We can only act as a guide since, at the end of the day, it’s all about your preference.
Your right mix of what you want and want to feel every evening.
As such, there are generally 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar wanted to one-up that, and provides a 365 day test period before fully committing to it. It’s like properly courting your mattress over a long period of time instead of just after a few months of seeing each other.
It’s a wonderful comfort to know that option is there, only in the event of anything.
