Like Goldilocks preference in soup, sleep is all about finding out which mattress is just right for you.
If you receive too little of it, it’s bad. You’re tired, you are irate and it might be the first step to a ruined day. If you get too much of it, you are weirdly tired, perhaps even a little lethargic. You might have missed some calls, or perhaps even a commitment with a friend, and your day’s wasted.
Then there is your personal sleeping style and arrangement to consider — because we all know if we don’t sleep the right way, which is our own way, then something will go wrong.
Much like baking, you need to get everything to come off with that perfect batch of “sleep.” In the grand scheme of things, mattresses play a large part in that. It’s one of the key ingredients in a good night’s sleep.
The Nectar Mattress has proven itself to be one of the most best mattresses available right now in the market. It is a three-layer memory foam mattress with mid-level toughness to cover a broad selection of people’s sleeping preferences. High quality, smartly constructed and designed to help give you the best sleep you can ask for.
Does the mattress really walk the talk? Read on and find out what we have to say on this powerhouse of a mattress.
Before we begin, in case you’re in a hurry, or just prefer a more visual review, here is a video below by Kelly and Mar from the Nectar Sleep YouTube channel:
Building Better Sleep Is Nectar Mattress Good if Your Lightweight
With their headquarters in Palo Alto, California, Nectar Sleep is a mattress and bedding firm that designed the Nectar Mattress as their flagship memory foam mattress.
Nectar Sleep has three mattresses with different profiles: The Nectar, which has a 12” profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13” profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14” profile. And as mentioned before it is a three-layer, all-foam bed. It consists of a quilted cover and breathable base later, with the three layers of foam between: gel-infused memory foam, support memory foam, and high-density polyfoam. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.
Let’s dig into each facet, shall we?

The Cover
Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made of TENCEL lyocell and cotton. Since both of the components are fairly breathable and feel nice to the touch, you get a nice feel on your body.
Comfort Layer
Helping you distribute your weight for a more comfy sleep, Nectar Mattress has two layers that prioritize comfort and proper sleep posture.
The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that is made from quilted memory foam using a 4PCF Density, while the next layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. They were designed this way so that when you sleep on it, it seems like its embracing your body. This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, helps manage bodily aches, and may even help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.
Transitional Layer
For the transitional layer, it has a high-density memory foam which measures about 1.75 inches rather than the usual polyfoam other mattresses have. This improvement of the foam enhances how the mattress hugs against your body without sagging too much.
Support Layer
And finally, the service core. It contains a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that is about 5.25 inches thick. Together with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer base for the softer comfort layers. Because of this, you get a balanced, medium-firm feel without compromising the support of the mattress as a whole.

How Does It Feel?
Giving it a whirl, or more accurately, a rest, will require some prep time when you open it out of the packaging. We suggest you purchase it in the morning and start setting up hours before sleeping because it is going to take precisely that, hours before it’ll expand and reach its entire height.
Like a fine wine, it needs to breathe. Is Nectar Mattress Good if Your Lightweight
Once you lie down, give it a few moments and before you know it, the memory foam will begin kicking into high gear and you will feel a tender embrace over your body. It’s a deep embrace feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed rather than “on” it will really enjoy this one.
The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too hard, not to squishy, it feels balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is quite subjective, dependent not only on your taste, but also on your physicality. If you’re a bit on the other hand, this may feel somewhat more firm to you than others would.
It’s All About Positioning
Just how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.
If you are a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a perfect neutral position. Your lumbar area however may need extra support, if it sinks a bit deeper but it’s terrific for back sleepers.
For side sleepers, the memory foam’s sink allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. The uniform pressure release of the mattress counters the negative effect this sleeping place could have on your body, so this bed is looking like a great choice for this position.
Stomach sleepers may not want this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink into your abdomen area with this position, and you’re going to have to be very careful with this because it might affect your body adversely with time. For those who sleep on their stomachs, we recommend that you choose a mattress that is firmer than this one as it may lead to adverse effects.
Couples will appreciate the bed a lot. Aside from being spacious enough to hold both of your comfortable, moving around and changing positions won’t be as bothersome with your spouse due to its motion isolation and edge support. Is Nectar Mattress Good if Your Lightweight

Body Types for Nectar
For a more comprehensive breakdown, we’ll be getting into body types and how different body types react differently to the Nectar Mattress.
The Lightweight Sleeper
The lightweight sleeper will find the mattress quite small tough, which is to be expected. They experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it wasn’t a very deep one. The experience can be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers require a soft to firm bed if they want that deep body hug.
But if you’re a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm mattress which still has a little that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress would be great.
The Typical Sleeper
The ordinary sleeper discovered that the Nectar mattress was just as advertised — firm with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you are falling to the bed. They felt that it was a good product because no sagging was felt, the body relief it provided after a long day was superior regardless of which sleeping position they went to bed in.
Heavyweight Sleepers
For heavy sleepers who want for something more firm, the Nectar Mattress may be the perfect fitThere’ll be a bit of sagging when the mattress begins to hug and shape around heavyweight sleepers, but other than that, if this stability is your preference, it’s a wonderful pick.
The Sleep Test
Although we tried to get to as much as we can with our reviewwe know really having the ability to feel the mattress for yourself, giving it an actual test is the best way to determine whether it’s for you. We can only act as a guide since, at the end of the day, it’s all about your own preference.
Your right mix of everything you want and want to feel every evening.
As such, there are generally 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar wanted to one-up that, and provides a 365 day evaluation period before fully committing to it. It’s like properly courting your mattress over a long period of time instead of just after a few months of seeing each other.
It’s a wonderful comfort to know that option is there, just in the event of anything.
