Making Sleep Better Nectar Mattress Long Term Review Reddit
With the Nectar Mattress as their flagship product, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress company that is stationed in Palo Alto, California.
Nectar Sleep has three mattresses with different profiles: The Nectar, which has a 12” profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13” profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14” profile. And as mentioned before it’s a three-layer, all-foam bed. It consists of a quilted cover and breathable base later, with the three layers of foam between: gel-infused memory foam, support memory foam, and high-density polyfoam. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.
Let’s dig into each aspect, shall we?

The Cover
Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made of TENCEL lyocell and cotton. Since both of the materials are fairly breathable and feel nice to the touch, you get a wonderful feel on your body.
Comfort Layer
Making it possible to distribute your weight for a more comfy sleep, Nectar Mattress has two layers that takes into account comfort and proper sleep posture.
The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that is made of quilted memory foam using a 4PCF Density, while the second layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. Like a gentle embrace, this layer was designed so that it emulats like you are being hugged This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, helps handle bodily aches, and may even help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.
Transitional Layer
For the transitional layer, it has a high-density memory foam which measures about 1.75 inches rather than the typical polyfoam other mattresses have. Because of this technology the mattress is able to press against your sleeping body without losing any of it’s firmness.
Support Layer
And finally, the support center. It contains a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that is about 5.25 inches thick. Along with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer base for the softer comfort layers. As a result of this, you get a balanced, medium-firm sense without compromising the support of the mattress as a whole.

How Does It Feel?
Taking it out for a spin — or rather, for a sleep — takes some time right from the box. We suggest you purchase it in the morning and begin setting up hours before sleeping because it will take exactly that, hours before it is going to expand and reach its full height.
Like a good wine, it needs to breathe. Nectar Mattress Long Term Review Reddit
After letting it rest out of the box for a few hours, trying it out after a long day of impatiently waiting, you will feel a soft embrace start to surround you. It has a deep embrace feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed instead of “on” it will love this one.
The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too hard, not to soft, it feels balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is quite subjective, dependent not just on your taste, but also in your physicality. If you are a bit on the lighter side, this may feel somewhat more firm for you than others would.
It’s All About Positioning
Just how does the Nectar mattress feel, that depends on what position you sleep in.
If you’re a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. It gives you the support you need while keeping your spine in a perfect neutral position. Your pelvic region however may need extra support, if it sinks a bit deeper but it’s terrific for back sleepers.
For side sleepers, the memory foam’s conforms itself which allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. The uniform pressure release of the mattress really counters the negative impact this sleeping place could have on your body, so this bed is looking like a great choice for this position.
Stomach sleepers may not want this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink in your abdomen area with this place, and you’re going to have to be very careful with that since it might affect your body adversely with time. A firmer mattress may be better suited to those who like sleeping this way.
Having a restless partner on the same bed as you won’t be as annoying as with another mattress thanks to Nectar’s motion isolation and edge support features, so both you and your partner can move about without the other knowing. Nectar Mattress Long Term Review Reddit

Some Bodies to Love
For a more comprehensive breakdown, we are going to be getting into body types and how different body types react differently to the Nectar Mattress.
The Lightweight Sleeper
The lightweight sleeper will discover the mattress to be a little tough, which is to be expected. They experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it wasn’t a very profound one. The experience can be described as a sort of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers need a soft to firm bed if they need that deep body hug.
But if you are a light sleeper and you’re searching for a firm bed that still has a little that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress would be great.
The Average Sleeper
The average sleeper discovered that the Nectar mattress was just as advertised — company with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you are falling to the bed. There was no sagging, good body relief and regardless of the sleeping place, it was great.
Heavy Sleepers
For heavy sleepers who want for something more firm, the Nectar Mattress may be the perfect fitThere’ll be a bit of sagging when the mattress begins to hug and form around heavyweight sleepers, but other than that, if this firmness is your preference, it’s a great pick.
The Sleep Test
Although we tried to cover as much as we can with our trial we know really having the ability to feel the mattress for yourself, giving it an actual test is the best method to ascertain if it’s for you. We can only act as a guide because, at the end of the day, it’s all about your own preference.
Your right mix of everything you want and want to feel every night.
As such, there are generally 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar wanted to one-up that, and provides a 365 day test period before fully committing to it. It’s like properly getting to know your mattress over a long period of time rather than of just after a few weeks of seeing each other.
It’s a great comfort to know that option is there, just in the event of anything.
