Sleep isn’t a science, nor is it an art. It’s a matter of precision, of getting it just right.
If you get too little of it, it’s bad. You’re tired, you are irate and it might be the first step to a ruined day. If you get too much of it, then you’re weirdly tired, maybe even a little lethargic. Lacking sleep could cause you to miss out a perfectly good day of activities.
Preferred sleeping positions also affect the quality of sleep we get as not sleeping the ideal way can affect how restful our sleep is.

Building Better Sleep Nectar Mattress Measurements
With their headquarters in Palo Alto, California, Nectar Sleep is a bedding and mattress company that designed the Nectar Mattress as their flagship memory foam mattress.
Nectar Sleep has three mattresses with different profiles: The Nectar, which has a 12” profile; the Nectar Premier, which has a 13” profile; and the Nectar Premier Copper, which has a 14” profile. And as mentioned before it is a three-layer, all-foam bed. It has a quilted cover and breathable base later, with the three layers of foam between: gel-infused memory foam, support memory foam, and high-density polyfoam. Remember, the thickness isn’t everything, so it’s good to dive into the different parts of the mattress.
Let’s dig into each aspect, shall we?

The Cover
Removable and wash friendly, the cover is made from TENCEL lyocell and cotton. Since both of the components are fairly breathable and feel nice to the touch, you get a nice feel on your body.
The Layer for Comfort
Making it possible to distribute your weight for a more comfy sleep, Nectar Mattress has two layers that takes into account comfort and proper sleep posture.
The first layer is a 1-inch top layer that’s made of quilted memory foam with a 4PCF Density, while the next layer is 3 inches and is made of 3.5PCF gel memory foam. They were created this way so that when you sleep on it, it feels like its embracing your body. This is turn helps stops pressure points from building up, can help manage bodily aches, and may even help improve spinal alignment for side sleepers.
Transitional Layer
For the transitional layer, it has a high-density memory foam which measures about 1.75 inches rather than the typical polyfoam other mattresses have. Thanks to this technology the mattress is capable of hugging your sleeping body without losing any of it’s firmness.
Support Layer
And finally, the support core. It consists of a 2.2 PCF High-density polyfoam that’s about 5.25 inches thick. Along with the transitional layer, the polyfoam base gives the mattress a firmer foundation for the softer comfort layers. As a result of this, you receive a balanced, medium-firm feel without compromising the support of the mattress as a whole.

How Does It Feel?
Giving it a whirl, or more accurately, a rest, will require some prep time when you open it out of the packaging. We suggest you purchase it in the morning and begin setting up hours before sleeping because it is going to take precisely that, hours before it is going to expand and reach its entire height.
Like a good wine, it first needs to breathe. Nectar Mattress Measurements
After letting it rest out of the box for a few hours, lying down after a long day of impatiently waiting, you will feel a tender embrace start to surround you. It’s a deep embrace feeling to it that people who love sleeping “in” a bed rather than “on” it will love this one.
The mattress’ firmness can be described as medium, not too tough, not to soft, it feels perfectly balanced. A 6/10 if ever. Firmness though is quite subjective, dependent not just on your taste, but also on your physicality. If you’re a bit on the other hand, this may feel a bit more firm for you than others would.
It’s All About Positioning
Just how does the Nectar mattress feel, depending on what position you sleep in.
If you’re a back sleeper, then the Nectar Mattress will feel fantastic for you. There’s no need to worry about comfort as the mattress is designed to keep you in the perfect position Your pelvic region however may need extra support, if it sinks a bit deeper but otherwise, it’s terrific for back sleepers.
For side sleepers, the memory foam’s sink allows your shoulders and hips to feel relief as you shift your weight down. This mattress is a perfect option for side sleepers as the uniform pressure release of the bed counters the harmful effects side sleeping might have.
Stomach sleepers may not choose this mattress. You’ll definitely feel a sink in your abdomen area with this position, and you’ll have to be very careful with that because it may affect your body adversely with time. For those who sleep on their stomachs, we would recommend that you opt for a mattress that is firmer than this one as it may lead to adverse effects.
Having a restless partner on the same bed as you won’t be as annoying as with another mattress thanks to Nectar’s motion isolation and edge support features, so both you and your partner can move about without the other finding out. Nectar Mattress Measurements

Some Bodies to Love
For a more comprehensive breakdown, we’ll be getting into body types and how different body types react differently to the Nectar Mattress.
The Lightweight Sleeper
As expected, a light sleeper will discover the Nectar to be tough on the body. They experienced the “hugging” sensation, but it wasn’t a very deep one. The experience can be described as a kind of “floating” feel to it. Usually, these kinds of sleepers require a soft to firm bed if they need that deep body hug.
But if you’re a light sleeper and you’re looking for a firm mattress which still has a bit of that hugging feel, then the Nectar Mattress will be great.
The Typical Sleeper
The ordinary sleeper discovered that the Nectar mattress was exactly as advertised — firm with a deep, supportive feel that lets you sink in just enough, without it feeling like you’re falling to the bed. They felt that it was a good product because no sagging was felt, the body relief it provided after a long day was great no matter which sleeping position they went to bed in.
Heavy Sleepers
Although still quite supportive, the Nectar Mattress was more for those heavy sleepers who wanted something with medium firmness. There will be a bit of sagging when the mattress begins to hug and form around heavyweight sleepers, but besides that, if this firmness is your preference, it is a great pick.
The Sleep Test
Although we tried to get to as much as we could with our review, we know really having the ability to feel the mattress on your own, giving it an actual test is the best way to ascertain if it’s for you. We can only act as a guide because, in the end of the day, it’s all about your preference.
Your right mix of what you want and want to feel every night.
As such, there are usually 90 to 120-day sleep trials for most mattresses. Nectar wanted to one-up that, and offers a 365 day test period before fully committing to it. Consider it as dating your mattress long term before putting a ring on it, as opposed to popping the question after 3 or 4 weeks.
It’s a wonderful comfort to know that that option is there, just in case of anything.
